BASF is recognized as Champion by EPA
BASF is the only chemical company recognized as Champion by the EPA in Safer Detergents Stewardship Initiative (SDSI) Highest honor in EPA’s Design for the Environment Program (DfE) that distinguishes leaders committed to use of safer surfactants.
FLORHAM PARK, NJ, December 18, 2008 -- The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recognized BASF’s Care Chemicals and Formulators business unit as a Champion in the Design for the Environment Program’s (DfE) Safer Detergents Stewardship Initiative (SDSI) at an awards ceremony in Washington, DC. The EPA’s DfE recognizes environmental leaders who voluntarily commit to the use of safer surfactants, or those that break down quickly to non-polluting compounds and help protect aquatic life in both fresh and salt water.
